directions

As we mentioned before, each one of us chose one of the three ideas that we had:
-Echos
-Directions
-Angles
And from that we are expecting one or two of the following:
subtracting
narrowing down
combining
diverging/converging
extracting from one into the other
And be able to finalize one concept, with clear understanding of how/what the content is going to be.

Directions:
direction |diˈrek sh ən; dī-|
noun
1 a course along which someone or something moves.
• the course that must be taken in order to reach a destination.
• a point to or from which a person or thing moves or faces.
• a general way in which someone or something is developing : new directions in painting and architecture | any dialogue between them is a step in the right direction.
• general aim or purpose.

2 the management or guidance of someone or something.
• the work of supervising and controlling the actors and other staff in a movie, play, or other production.

gathering pictures related to angles, curves, perspectives, different ideas, mediums.we did also a research about angles on typography, and how we can show perspectives, directions with it..

Angles..
I chose this keyword to search for it, and to bring to my group a detailed mood boards and a research about angles, how this word will reflect our class and our interests, find from it grids, typographic treatments

by researching about the word Angle, on the dictionary,
angle 1 |ˈa ng gəl|
noun
1 the space
(usually measured in degrees) between two intersecting lines or surfaces at or close to the point where they meet.

angle1
• a corner, esp. an external projection or an internal recess of a part of a building or other structure : a skylight in the angle of the roof.
• slope; a measure of the inclination of two lines or surfaces with respect to each other, equal to the amount that one would have to be turned in order to point in the same direction as the other : sloping at an angle of 33° to the
horizontal | he trudged back, the angle of his shoulders spelling dejection.
• a position from which something is viewed or along which it travels or acts, often as measured by its inclination from an implicit horizontal or vertical baseline : fro
m this angle, Maggie could not see Naomi's face | camera angles.
2 a particular way of approaching or considering an issue or problem : discussing the problems from every conceivable angle | he always had a fresh angle on life.
• one part of a larger subject, event, or problem : a black prosecutor who downplayed the racial angle | his chosen angle was the language of the Old Testament.
• a bias or point of view : Zimmer saw the world from an angle that few could understand.
3 [often with adj. ] Astrology each of the four mundane houses (the first, fourth, seventh, and tenth of the twelve divisions of the heavens) that extend counterclockwise from the cardinal points of the compass.
4 angle iron or a similar construction material made of another metal.

verb [ trans. ]

• [ intrans. ] move or be inclined at an angle : the cab angled across two lanes and skidded to a stop | the sun angled into the dining room.

• [ trans. ] present (information) to reflect a particular view or have a particular focus.
PHRASES

at an angle in a direction or at an inclination markedly different from parallel, vertical, or horizontal with respect to an implicit baseline : she wore her beret at an angle | an armchair was drawn up at an angle to his desk.
from all angles from every direction or point of view : they come shooting at us from all angles | looking at the problem from all angles.
ORIGIN late Middle English : from Old French, from Latin angulus ‘corner.’

angle 2 |ˈøŋgəl| |ˈaŋg(ə)l|
verb [ intrans. ]
fish with rod and line : there are no big fish left to angle for.
• seek something desired by indirectly
prompting someone to offer it : Ralph had begun to angle for an invitation | [with infinitive ] her husband was angling to get into the Cabinet.

I got from mind mapping for the word angle i got :
-parallel
-connected

-divert
-slope
-different
-points
-well structured
-size

-acts
-technology
-triangle
-straight lines

-interaction
-games
-curves
-implicit
-views
-positions
-math
-respect
-vertical

-numbers
-degrees

-interaction
-measurements

By this mind map I got the idea of Virtual Reality.
and i started researching for it.

the idea came to me, because the idea of letting people share you a different experience they didn't go through it before.and i was thinking we could talk about it a little bit in our next meeting

We took alot of pictures to create a color scheme..from the univerity.

Typeface

This particular table lists 100 of the most popular, influential and notorious typefaces today.
As with traditional periodic tables, this table presents the subject matter grouped categorically. The Table of Typefaces groups by families and classes of typefaces: sans-serif, serif, script, blackletter, glyphic, display, grotesque, realist, didone, garalde, geometric, humanist, slab-serif and mixed. INSPIRATION

Mapping Audience

After meeting today at 2:40pm, the following was decided:
-Create a Flickr group
-Edit the timeline according to where we are in terms of content
-work on 3 moodboards:
-- Directions: Fatma
-- Echoes: Sahwa
-- Angles: Hadeer

And since our audience is mainly the senior students, we are thinking of mind-mapping them and then highlight the most significant out of the whole list. Hopefully that way we'll have a broader view of what we're looking for.

Here's the Amazing list:
-projects
-work
-hours
-dynamics
-similarities
-differences
-colors
-moods
-likes/hates
-tunes
-words
-language
-decisions
-achievements
-goals
-laughter
-moments
-hard times
-comfort
-knowledge
-observer
-skill
-Talent
-leader
-eager
-Tradition
-personality
-cultures
-collaboration
-

Process 01C

After our first meeting with our advisers we were encouraged to start thinking of the content pragmatically even before deciding on the final format. ORGANIZATION!
Therefore, we went ahead and began collecting artifacts for the Moodboard.

"Mood boards are often used by graphic designers to enable a person to illustrate visually the direction of style which they are pursuing. However, mood boards can also be used to visually explain a certain style of writing, or an imaginary setting for a storyline. In short, mood boards are not limited to visual subjects, but serve as a visual tool to quickly inform others of the overall 'feel' (or 'flow') that a designer is trying to achieve. Creating mood boards in a digital form may be easier and quicker, but physical objects often tend to have a higher impact on people because of the more complete palette of sensations physical mood boards offer, in contrast with the black & white or color-prints of a digital mood board."
Source

Right now we are going back and forth into the seniors' studios, looking for what specific materials, colors, textures and lines that sets each department from the other.

 The mood of one department could be the constant, and the students are the variable.

Interesting Mediums (Research)

Interesting Mediums (Research)
example 1
-Inspired from the mac book air.
-they way you interact with this book is just like a lab top.
example 2

Making the audience/user interact, think and discover should be part of our goal.
The use of several layers and hidden ones makes it more interesting than a normal book with normal pages.
Example 3
A year book doesn't have to be a book.
As you see in the picture on the left< style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);">

Example 4

We talked about layers, and about the use of different types of papers. But how about using a material other than paper? on you left, we see a book sculpture, that is made our of wood. the material didn't even stop the designer of creating overlapping layers.
